2026 Provo River Clean Up
The 11th Annual Lower Provo River Cleanup, held on April 25, 2026 at Timpanogos Park in Provo Canyon, was one for the record books.
This year, a massive 535 volunteers showed up ready to make a difference, our largest turnout to date. Together, this incredible group removed over 16,800 pounds of trash, filling four construction-size dumpsters with debris pulled from the river corridor. It was an inspiring reminder of what a motivated community can accomplish in just a few hours.
The day kicked off at 9:00 AM as volunteers gathered at Timpanogos Park to grab RedBulls and supplies to then head out throughout the canyon. From 9:00 AM to noon, teams spread out along the riverbanks, trails, and access points—working together to restore one of Utah’s most-loved waterways.
Every filled trash bag not only made an immediate impact but also earned volunteers a well-deserved BBQ lunch and entries into the prize drawing adding a little extra motivation to an already meaningful effort.
One of the highlights of the day was the Raccoons Kids Club Workshop, where young volunteers and their families gathered for a short, hands-on session led by our youth ambassadors. Kids learned how to care for rivers and public lands and officially joined the Fish For Garbage Kids Club as “Raccoons.” It’s a small but powerful step toward building lifelong river stewards.
After a productive morning, volunteers came back together to enjoy a complimentary BBQ lunch provided by High Country Fly Fishers. The energy carried into the afternoon with our prize drawing, featuring an incredible grand prize generously provided by Fly Fish Food.
More than anything, the day was about community, friends, families, and first-time volunteers coming together with a shared purpose and leaving with a sense of pride in what they accomplished.
To every volunteer who showed up, filled a bag, and made a difference thank you. This kind of impact doesn’t happen without people willing to roll up their sleeves.
A huge thank you as well to our partners and sponsors who help bring this event to life, including the Provo River Watershed Council, and our generous supporters: PCL Construction, KHYV Nutrition, Happy Elephant, MGC Contractors, Fly Fish Food, High Country Fly Fishers, ACE Recycling & Disposal, and Anytime Services. Your support whether through funding, supplies, food, or time directly translates into cleaner rivers and stronger communities.
We’re keeping the momentum going.
Our next stop is the Weber River Cleanup on May 19th, and we’d love to see you there. If the Provo was any indication, it’s going to be another incredible day of community, stewardship, and real impact.
Cheers!
