Youth Education Programs

We inspire kids to care for their waterways through fun, hands-on learning that shows how small everyday actions can make a big impact.

Kids Club – The Raccoons

The Kids Club, known as the Raccoons, is Fish For Garbage’s youth education program designed to inspire the next generation of outdoor stewards.

At select Fish For Garbage events, kids are invited to attend a short, interactive workshop led by our youth ambassadors, where they learn why keeping our rivers, lakes, and public spaces clean matters—and how small, everyday actions can make a big difference. The workshops are casual, age-appropriate discussions focused on respect for nature, wildlife, and the places we all love to recreate.

Kids who participate earn a kids raffle ticket and are officially enrolled as members of the FFG Kids Club. As Raccoons, they commit to helping keep the outdoors clean and carrying the Fish For Garbage spirit with them wherever they go.

The Raccoons program is built to grow alongside our events, with future opportunities for kids-only activities, hands-on learning, and family-friendly conservation experiences.

Small paws. Big impact.

Activity Book

Now in its third year, this program continues to grow and inspire. In 2024, Fish For Garbage published a children’s activity book designed to teach young stewards why clean waterways matter and how they can help protect them. Through engaging puzzles, games, and hands-on activities, kids explore the impact litter has on our streams, rivers, and lakes and learn how their everyday choices can make a meaningful difference. To expand its reach, we share and distribute the book at expos, festivals, and any other tabling events we can be a part of, using it as a fun, interactive way to connect with youth and their families while sparking conversations about conservation.
