Record-breaking turnout at the 11th Annual Lower Provo River Cleanup! 535 volunteers removed over 16,800 pounds of trash, filling four construction dumpsters and making a huge impact on one of Utah’s most-loved rivers. Huge thanks to our volunteers, sponsors, and partners who made it all possible.

Over 120 enthusiastic volunteers from various walks of life came together with a common goal in mind: to make a positive impact on our environment. Their dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment were truly inspiring. Together, we managed to collect an astonishing 4,180 pounds of trash from the reservoir and its shoreline, significantly improving the ecosystem and ensuring the preservation of this natural treasure for generations to come.

We are thrilled to share the success of the Fish For Garbage Lower Provo River Clean Up, held on April 29, 2023. With the help of over 300 volunteers, we were able to collect an impressive 9,240 pounds of garbage from the river and surrounding areas. That’s 30.5 lbs per person with a total of over 900 combined volunteer hours.

We couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather for our favorite event of the year! The air was warm, the sky was blue, the water was cool to the touch and the scenery and wildlife was picturesque. Fish For Garbage teamed up with GROGA (Green River Outfitters & Guides Association) and other volunteers to either float down the river in various watercrafts or walk along the river trail.
