1st Ever Mirror Lake Highway Clean Up

This past weekend, the community came together for an incredible day of stewardship and teamwork at the Mirror Lake Highway Clean Up. Thanks to the dedication of 149 volunteers, we were able to remove 3,060 pounds of trash from this beautiful and beloved mountain corridor.

The Mirror Lake Highway is a gateway to Utah’s high alpine lakes, campgrounds, and trails. Its beauty draws countless visitors each year, but with that comes the challenge of litter and waste. Saturday’s cleanup was proof that when people come together with a shared purpose, we can protect the places we love for generations to come.

We couldn’t have done it without our amazing partners:

FishWest for graciously hosting the cleanup, providing a gathering place for volunteers, and donating a brand-new Scott Fly Rod as the grand prize in our opportunity drawing.
Maven for treating everyone to a delicious lunch after a hard morning’s work.
Kamas Food Town for keeping our crew fueled with snacks throughout the day.
And to the rest of our generous sponsors for providing in-kind donations for the opportunity drawing—your contributions helped make the day even more special for our volunteers.

Events like these not only improve the health of our watersheds and landscapes but also build stronger connections within our community. Every bottle, can, wrapper, and piece of discarded gear picked up makes a difference—and 3,060 pounds of difference is something we can all be proud of.
