5th Annual Green River Clean Up Recap
Fish For Garbage and our friends at the Green River Outfitters & Guides Association (GROGA) teamed up once again for the 5th Annual Green River Clean Up—and what a day it was!
This year, 132 volunteers rallied together to protect one of Utah’s most iconic fisheries. From roadways and trails to campgrounds and the beaches of Flaming Gorge, no corner was left untouched. Volunteers hauled trash from the riverbanks, dug into overgrown sections of shoreline, and even pulled a sunken boat up from the depths of the river. It was an incredible effort that showcased just how much people care about this place.
Of course, a day like this doesn’t happen without community support. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Backcountry Hunters & Anglers of Utah, who not only sponsored the cleanup but also treated every volunteer to a free BBQ—fueling our bodies after a big day’s work and lifting everyone’s spirits. And what goes better with a BBQ than a cold drink? A big thank you to Uinta Brewing, who kept volunteers refreshed with cold beverages throughout the afternoon.
Thank you to GRUNDENS for providing the grand prize for the event. We’re also deeply grateful to the many local shops, outfitters, and guides who pitched in with donations, supplies, and hands-on help. Your commitment ensures events like this are possible, and your contributions go a long way in keeping the Green River the world-class fishery and outdoor destination it is.
What makes this cleanup so special is that it’s more than just picking up trash—it’s about building a community of people who love the outdoors and want to leave it better than they found it. Seeing everyone come together, from seasoned guides to first-time volunteers, reminds us that stewardship is something we all share.
We couldn’t be more proud of what was accomplished this year. To every single person who showed up, rolled up their sleeves, and gave back to the Green—thank you. Together, we’re making a difference.
