2025 Big Cottonwood Canyon Clean Up

Fish For Garbage hosted our annual Big Cottonwood Canyon Clean Up, and it was one for the books. Thanks to the dedication of 212 incredible volunteers, we were able to remove a staggering 2,022 pounds of trash from throughout the canyon. Together, we made a real impact on one of Utah’s most treasured places.

The day kicked off at the mouth of the canyon, where volunteers checked in, geared up, and got fueled for the morning with coffee generously provided by Alpha Coffee. From there, teams spread out across the entire canyon—covering trails, riverbanks, pullouts, and parking lots—to pick up litter and restore the area’s natural beauty.

The hard work was balanced with some well-deserved perks. Brighton Resort welcomed us with a stunning fall backdrop and offered free scenic lift rides, giving everyone a chance to enjoy the canyon from above. Lunch was provided by the Doppelmayr Lift Company, and Uinta Brewing kept us refreshed with cold beverages afterward.

We’d also like to send a huge thank you to all of our amazing partners and sponsors who provided in-kind donations for our raffle. From gear to gift cards, your contributions brought smiles to tired but proud faces at the end of the day.

Most importantly, thank you to every single person who showed up, laced up their boots, grabbed a trash bag, and gave their time to protect the canyon we all love. Your effort is what makes this event possible, year after year.

Together, we’re proving that when a community comes together, we can make a lasting difference.
