2025 Weber River Recap

This year’s Weber River Cleanup was a massive success—setting records, surpassing expectations, and reinforcing just how powerful a community of river lovers can be.

For the first time ever, we hosted the cleanup at a new location: Upland Fly Shop, right at the mouth of Weber Canyon. The new basecamp offered easy access to key stretches of the river and brought fresh energy to the event. Huge thanks to the Upland crew for hosting us and being such strong supporters of the cause.

With 226 volunteers showing up, we had one of our largest turnouts ever. From early morning until afternoon, volunteers combed the riverbanks, trails, and roadside pull-offs—filling bags and hauling debris that had accumulated over the past year.

We knew there would be a lot of trash, but we didn’t expect this much. By the end of the day, we had collected a staggering 8,680 pounds of trash—everything from tires and furniture to scrap metal and decades-old debris. When our original dumpster filled up fast, Ace Disposal came through in a huge way, delivering two additional roll-off dumpsters to help us finish the job properly.

This cleanup was about more than just hauling trash. It was a celebration of the Weber River, a gathering of stewards, and a powerful reminder that when people come together with purpose, they can make a lasting impact. Thank you to every volunteer who gave their time and energy. We’re already looking forward to the next clean up.

We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the amazing sponsors who contributed in-kind donations for our opportunity drawing. Your generosity helped us reward our hardworking volunteers and added a fun, celebratory vibe to the day. From outdoor gear and fly fishing essentials to apparel and gift cards, the prize table was stacked—and it was all thanks to you.

Your support not only made the event more exciting, but it also helped remind everyone why this community is so special. We’re proud to partner with businesses that care about our local environment as much as we do.

We appreciate all of you and can’t wait to work together again.
