2026 Strawberry Reservoir Clean Up
The Strawberry Reservoir Cleanup & Campout is in the books, and what a weekend it was.
Mother Nature showed off with perfect weather for camping, fishing, and giving back to one of Utah's most iconic fisheries. This year also marked a big change for our event as we partnered with Explore US at Strawberry Bay. Their incredible hospitality and support made for a much smoother experience and created a true basecamp for our volunteers. The campground was a huge improvement from years past, and we're grateful to the Camp Utah hosts for welcoming the Fish For Garbage family.
On Saturday, 303 volunteers came together with one common goal: to leave Strawberry Reservoir better than we found it. Thanks to their hard work and dedication, we removed an incredible 7,100 pounds of trash from the shoreline and surrounding recreation areas.
It's always amazing to see what can happen when a community of anglers, campers, families, and outdoor enthusiasts work together. From kids collecting their first pieces of litter to longtime volunteers filling truckloads of debris, every bag of trash made a difference.
The cleanup was about more than picking up garbage. It was a weekend of campfires, fishing stories, new friendships, and sharing our love for the outdoors. Events like this remind us that protecting our public lands and waters is a responsibility we all share.
A huge thank you goes out to our sponsors and partners who helped make this event possible. Special thanks to FishHeads Fly Shop, PCL Construction, Fish Tech Outfitters, the Utah Stream Access Coalition, Marty Howard and the Heber Valley Fly Casters, Explore US, Strawberry Bay Marina and the many businesses and individuals who donated prizes, supplies, and their time. Your support helps us provide meals, camping opportunities, and an unforgettable experience for our volunteers.
Most importantly, thank you to every single volunteer who spent part of their weekend making a difference. Whether you camped all weekend or joined us for a few hours on Saturday, you helped protect Strawberry Reservoir for future generations to enjoy.
We're proud of what we accomplished together, but there's always more work to do. We hope you'll join us at our next Fish For Garbage event as we continue our mission to leave our favorite places cleaner than we found them.
We'll see you at the next cleanup.
