2018 Provo River Cleanup

Every year outdoor enthusiasts flock to the Provo River to enjoy the fruits of Mother Nature for months on end. The Brighton Anglers are no exception. With this being said, Brighton Anglers teamed up with Fish For Garbage three years ago to create an event that gives back to the river we love and use so much. Last year we decided to host the event on the Saturday closest to Earth Day. Attaching this event to Earth Day starts the fishing season right by hosting a river clean up and remind people that we need to give back more than we use to keep our natural resources pristine. This year was our largest event yet! We had 200+ friends and families show up on a beautiful warm spring day. We filled three trailers and two dumpsters equaling over 8,000 pounds of trash. Some of the highlights included the usual large amount if flipflops, blown out tires and inner tubes. Unique finds were a 1940s water heater, several mattresses and a few sets of keys. We want to thank everyone for taking the time out of their busy schedules to come out year after year to this special event. We had a great time and hope you all enjoyed your time on the river as well.

A huge thank you goes out to the Brighton Anglers for hosting this event and to all of our partners who supported us this year:
